The purpose of the college’s mathematics department is to develop quantitatively literate individuals who demonstrate the ability to think critically, reason logically, communicate mathematical information, and problem solve in a systematic way. The mathematics department faculty provides learning opportunities that take into consideration the diversity of our students. The mathematics department faculty strives to develop within our students an appreciation for the power and usefulness of mathematics. Empowered by a strong mathematics background, our students will be able to apply mathematics to solve real world problems, becoming even more productive global citizens and lifelong learners.
